Goodbye 2022!

It’s been a busy year at Collective with a full return to our programme of events and exhibitions.

Spring at Collective saw the film-based exhibition H-E-L-L-O by Cauleen Smith, accompanied by a unique performance by six locally based musicians, alongside a variety of Shifting Tactics workshops for emerging artists.

This summer, we launched three exhibitions in conjunction with Edinburgh Art Festival: Ruth Ewan’s The Beast, Annette Krauss’ A Matter of Precedents, and Camara Taylor’s backwash. It was also time to announce our Satellites Programme 2022 cohort of Thomas Abercromby, Rabindranath X Bhose, Kaya Fraser and Matthew Rimmer.

In autumn, we launched Stephanie Black-Daniels’ Position & Attachment in our Hillside Gallery, and Katie Schwab’s The Seeing Hands in our City Dome (which you can still catch until 5 March 2023!).

This winter, we opened neither the West nor the East can be a determinate location by Katherine Ka Yi Liu 廖加怡, which will run until 26 February 2023. Throughout the year, we have delivered an engaging programme of play, including drop-in sessions and a PLAY Weekend.

Stay tuned for more from Collective in 2023!
