We welcome teacher-led visits to Collective

Collective is a new kind of Observatory, bringing people together around contemporary art and iconic heritage: a unique place to bring pupils on a school trip.

Visiting groups are welcome to use our outdoor Play Shelter, located outside the Hillside Gallery, for class discussions, eating packed lunches or playing while at Collective.

You’ll find a number of downloadable resources here to help you plan your visit and learn more about our exhibitions. As space on our site is limited, please help us to make sure your visit goes smoothly by letting us know in advance:

Book your visit by emailing [email protected]

Local Partnerships

Collective is working closely with two local primary schools, Abbeyhill and Leith Walk and the wider Drummond Community High School Cluster, to develop strong long–term relationships to bring staff and pupils together with artists.

Collective’s work with Abbeyhill Primary School is in partnership with the Artists in-Residence Programme at Abbeyhill Primary School. Work by artists and children is presented at the annual Colony of Artists in Abbeyhill. These partnerships are supported by Children & the Arts.
