New outdoor classroom for Collective

We're delighted to be working with architects O'Donnell Brown on the construction of a new outdoor classroom for the courtyard at Collective. Our home on Calton Hill has endless possibilities for outdoor play and learning, but it's fair to say it catches the weather! This new structure, made from timber with a polycarbonate roof, will feature modular screen walls so that it can provide varying levels of shelter all year round, providing a welcome haven for our family and schools learning programme.

The design is based on an adaptable and de-mountable 'community classroom' O'Donnell Brown built recently in Glasgow with the Design Engineering Workshop. A huge thanks to Historic Environment Scotland, whose Recovery Fund has funded the project
