New Co-chairs Amanda Catto and Nick Sherrard appointed

In a new shared leadership model, Collective is delighted to announce that Amanda Catto and Nick Sherrard have been appointed to jointly Chair the organisation’s Board of Trustees with immediate effect. Each brings significant knowledge and expertise to the role and a deep commitment to Collective’s vision to be a new kind of observatory, bringing artists and audiences together to explore the world.

In welcoming Amanda and Nick, we also wish to thank Akiko Kobayashi who has been acting as interim Chair following the retiral of Anne Bonnar in February 2024. Both have made an invaluable contribution to the organisation’s development over the past eight years.

Amanda is a freelance producer and cultural strategist who lives and works in Edinburgh. Until recently she was Head of Visual Arts at Creative Scotland and has an extensive overview of the arts policy and funding landscape in Scotland. In her role she initiated several high-profile initiatives and developed the first visual arts strategy for the country. She has a strong international outlook and was responsible for the establishment and successful delivery of the Scotland + Venice project from 2003 to 2022.

Nick is a partner and founder at Label Ventures, a global venture studio. Through this he works with brands in the US and Europe to pioneer new strategies, products and brands to drive sustainable growth. Nick has advised boards on innovation and strategy for over a decade, having previously been Managing Director of both Market Gravity, an innovation consultancy, before their acquisition and Deloitte Digital.

Amanda and Nick said:

“We are delighted to have been appointed as Co-Chairs of Collective and hope that by working together we can use our combined knowledge and experience to further the organisation's goals. We are especially looking forward to working with fellow Board members, the Director and the remarkable staff team to realise our vision to be a new kind of observatory - committed to supporting artists at key moments in their careers and creating enriching opportunities for audiences to engage with the work, bringing existing partners and new supporters with us to drive that forward.”
