Collective Director's New Role at BALTIC

After 12 years at the helm of Collective, our Director Kate Gray is moving on to take up a new role as Director of Enterprise and Public Value at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead.

Kate became Director in 2009, having previously worked with Collective as lead artist on the One Mile Programme. At that point we were still based in Cockburn Street but with the discovery of the disused City Observatory on Calton Hill the following year, plans began to develop for a new future and home for the charity. Realising these plans and finally opening our new home in 2018 was an epic challenge and simply wouldn't have happened without Kate's vision, determination, and leadership.

We will miss her greatly, but Kate leaves Collective in good shape and excited for the future. We wish her all the best for her new chapter at BALTIC.
