We are a charity and contemporary art gallery on Calton Hill, Edinburgh. We offer private dry hire of our historic City Observatory site for unique hilltop weddings.

The Observatory stands at the top of our site. We offer exclusive use of the whole Observatory and Viewing platform for an intimate wedding. The Observatory can host a private ceremony, followed by a drinks reception inside and on the Viewing Platform.
Capacity: 30 seated or 50 standing.
Duration: 7-hour hire
Before 5pm: £3,999 +VAT
After 5pm: Price on application

The historic City Dome is located on the North East corner of our site, used by the Edinburgh Astronomical Society for over 70 years from the late 1930. The City Dome is primarily used an exhibition space and therefore its availability is extremely limited. Due to its exclusivity, if you are particularly interested in this venue, our events team will be able to advise when it is available to hire for weddings over the next year.

Duration: 7-hour hire
Before 6pm: £3,999 +VAT
Additional Viewing Platform hire: £600 +VAT

Our Library offers an intimate setting for small ceremonies and drinks receptions, backdropped by views spanning over the North of Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth.
Capacity: Up to 10 guests
Duration: 7-hour hire
