A workshop supporting experiences of pain

As part of Paloma Proudfoot's exhibition Glass Delusion, join artist Aniela Piasecka for a workshop exploring somatic experiencing through light movement and breathing invitations developed through research into supporting experiences of pain. Considering the changing states of the body impacted by chronic conditions, the workshop will make space for physical explorations and discussion.

Yoga mats will be provided, and no previous movement or dance experience is necessary. Please get in touch if you have any questions about the workshop or accessing our site: +44 (0)131 556 1264, mail@collective-edinburgh.art.

About the Artist

Aniela Piasecka is an artist who lives and works in Glasgow. Often working in collaborative capacities, their practice engages with multidisciplinary modes of choreography. Informed by a background in cultural theory and crip queer feminist studies, over the last 5 years Aniela's research has focussed on the somatic experiencing and choreography of pain, the role of risk in performance and biopsychosocial ‘functions’ of the body.
