As part of her research for her new exhibition, these were the things that made the step familiar, Emmie McLuskey visited the archives of filmmaker Maya Deren, and anthropologist and choreographer Katherine Dunham, in the United States. This evening of screenings explores the work of Maya Deren with narration by Emmie McLuskey, including field recordings, letters and poetry from the archives of Deren and Dunham.
Films to be screened include Ritual in Transfigured Time (1946), Witch's Cradle Outtakes (1943), and The Living Gods of Haiti (1951).

The exhibition includes a series of large format digital prints, sculpture and sound work by Emmie McLuskey, poetry by Millicent A. A. Graham and a new publication, A Strange American Funeral, edited with Freya Field-Donovan.
Satellites Programme is Collective’s development programme for emergent artists and producers based in Scotland. 2018-19 participants are: Helen McCrorie, Emmie McLuskey, Kimberley O’Neill and Katie Shannon.
